Hugh William 'Grecian' Williams gained his nickname for exactly the kind of works as are offered here; in particular the depiction of the impressive and well preserved Hellenistic, Doric temple at Segesta, Sicily. As these works show, Williams was a competent and accomplished draughtsman in his depiction of Italianate and classical architecture which became the hallmark of his work.
