the hood with swan-neck pediment with central urn finial and carved wood Greek key decoration, outset reeded Composite-capped columns supporting a pierced wood blind frieze fret, the trunk with brass-capped reeded quarter columns flanking the shaped trunk door with gilt-metal foliate escutcheon, with stop-chamfered angles to the plinth with rectangular beaded panel, on bracket feet, turned wood bezel to the circular silvered engraved dial signed Mullenex Derby within a foliate cartouche in the centre with shaped calendar aperture, pierced blued hands, Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the four pillar rack-striking movement with anchor escapement -- 86in.(225cm.) high
