the redecorated case gilt-heightened overall with chinoiserie and flowers, the hood with pagoda top and brass-capped cylindrical pilasters, break arch trunk door, on stepped block base with associated bun feet, the brass dial with gilt-metal mask and scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, the matted centre engraved with doves and with calendar aperture and seconds ring, now with silvered oval plaque signed Joseph Hocker READING, a silvered disc in the arch inscribed Tempus Fugit with further spandrels, the four pillar arck striking movement with anchor escapement, case, dial and movement associated, dial adapted -- 87in.(122cm.) high
