the case with ripple-moulded cornice and Corinthian columns to the angles, on ogee moulded and stepped base, the silvered chapter ring with individual black-painted Roman numerals, filigree work centre, blued hands, within gilt mask with flower and bird mounts, the twin barrel movement with platform lever escapement and strike/repeat on gong to backplate, French -- 6½in.(17cm.) high
