Of flattened baluster form, the vase is carved to each side in low relief with taotie masks reserved on keyfret ground, above a band of upright lotus lappets encirling the lower body, and a band of downward plantain leaves surrounding the neck. The domed foot is separately carved and attached, and the base of which has been lightly incised with a character bing.
