The jade is well carved as a rabbit in recumbent position, with legs tucked under the body and ears laid back, grasping a long lingzhi spray in its mouth. The white stone has a slight celadon tinge with milky speckling and concentrated areas of russet inclusions.

A slightly smaller celadon jade rabbit, carved in a similar recumbent form with lingzhi in its mouth, inlaid with precious stones, is in the collection of the Beijing Palace Museum and illustrated in Zhongguo yuqi quanji, vol. 6, Qing, Hebei, 1991, no. 271.
