AN OPENWORK AMBER 'MONKEYS' FINIAL
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The boulder is delicately carved and pierced to one side with five monkeys amongst dense clusters of pine, the other side with three further monkeys clambering upon peaches issuing from leafy vines. The material is of a translucent reddish-brown tone suffused with orange speckling.
