See note to previous lot. The present cooler is recorded in the Artists' Ledgers on 30 March 1784 under Micaud. Although the kiln record for the seau is listed as "12.9.1784", in a recent conversation David Peters has indicated that the firing more likely took place in October.

Michel-Barnabé Chauvaux l'aîné is recorded as a gilder at the factory from 1752 to 1788.

Jacques-François Micaud père is recorded as a painter of flowers and patterns at the factory from 1757 to 1810.

Jean-Pierre Boulanger is recorded as a gilder and as a painter of patterns at the factory from 1754 to 1785.
