Auf diesem Bild signierte die Künstlerin mit ihrem ursprünglichen Familiennamen 'Bally'. Später änderte sie ihre Signatur zu 'Alice Bailly' um die Lesbarkeit ihres Namens zu steigern: "C'est alors que dorénavant j'ai signé mes oeuvres Bailly (avec un i), ceci pour plus de lisibilité". (Zitat aus ihrem Buch, Livre de raison I, Nr. 12, à propos de Maternité, 1909)

On this painting, the artist signed with her original surname 'Bally'. Later she changed her signature to 'Alice Bailly' to increase the readability of her name: "C'est alors que dorénavant j'ai signé mes oeuvres Bailly (avec un i), ceci pour plus de lisibilité".
