With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with diamond hour markers in 1962 and its subsequent sale on 16 November 1962.
The present specimen stands out by several value enhancing factors, including its freshness to the market, well preserved white gold case, its diamond-set dial confirmed by the Extract from the Archives and the luminous dots matching perfectly with the luminous hands. Furthermore the present watch is believed to be one of only three examples of a white gold reference 3428 and the only one known combining a white gold case with diamond-set dial, rendering the present watch a trophy for the discerning collector.
Reference 3428, introduced in 1960, is the successor of Patek Philippe's first model featuring a self-winding movement, reference 2526. Whereas reference 2526 is fitted with the celebrated calibre 12'''600, reference 3428 is equipped with the second generation self-winding movement, calibre 27-460.
