With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1955 and its subsequent sale on 29 May 1956.

Introduced in 1950 and in production for one decade, reference 2482 has similar "spider" lugs to time only reference 1578 and chronograph reference 1579. Reference 2482 could come with a polychrome enamel dial. One of the largest watches ever made by Patek Philippe, it is also one of the first references bearing power-house calibre 27SC, which, at the time, was new on the market.

Similar watches are published in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, second edition, 1998, p. 205 and 206.
