Mademoiselle Rose fût un modèle célèbre également utilisé par Bonington. Delacroix la fit poser de nombreuses fois, au début des années 1820 aussi bien pour des dessins que pour des huiles; voir, par exemple, l'académie de femme assise de la collection Pagliai, Mexico City (L. Johnson, The paintings of Eugène Delacroix. A Critical Catalogue. I. 1816-1831, Oxford, 1981, no. 4) ou la célèbre toile du Louvre (P. Georgel et L. Rossi Bortolatto, Tout l'oeuvre peint de Delacroix, Paris, 1975, no. 36).
