A very similar vase, of smaller size (26.6 cm.), with a Qianlong seal mark, is illustrated in Chinese Porcelain: The S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 1987, vol. I, pl. 113, and vol. II, pp. 155-57. A similar vase, of larger size (39.4 cm.), also with a Qianlong mark, in the Shanghai Museum, is illustrated in Underglaze Blue and Red, Shanghai Museum, 1987, no. 126. See, also, the larger vase (38.5 cm.) which is more similar stylistically to the Shanghai Museum example than the present and Tianminlou vases sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 2 November 1999, lot 601.
