A PALE MOTTLED GREYISH-GREEN JADEITE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER
The censer is raised on three cabriole supports surmounted by lion masks, and the rounded sides are carved in low relief with archaistic dragon scroll below the everted rim from which projects a pair of elaborate openwork dragon-loop handles from which loose rings are suspended. A raised, tripartite platform in the center of the interior is inscribed with an archaistic inscription surrounded by dragons pursuing flaming pearls. The stepped cover is carved with bands of archaistic bird scroll and the flat top of the removable knob is carved with a coiled dragon. The semi-translucent stone is of pale grey-green color with areas of pale lavender, pale green and some russet color.
