This chandelier is modelled on a renowned chandelier attributed to Jacques Caffieri, circa 1750, transferred to the Bibliothèque Mazarine, Paris, after the French Revolution (H. Ottomeyer & P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, 1986, p.137, fig. 2.10.3; and in P. Verlet, Les Bronzes dorés Français du XVIIIe Siècle, 1987, p.288, fig. 324.
