The Expulsion of Adam and Eve; and The Toil of Adam

These two paintings relate to a series of six coppers by Jan Breughel II recounting the story of Adam and Eve as it unfolds in the book of Genesis (see K. Ertz, Jan Breughel der Jüngere (1601-1678): die Gemälde mit kritischem Oeuvrekatalog, Freren, 1984, I, pp. 295-6, nos. 118-23, fig. 19-24).
