Folding printed diagram (615 x 780mm), dissected in 36 panels (each 100 x 130mm), 18 of these chromolithographs of regimental colours, and captions, mounted on canvas edged with green cloth. (Some light spotting mainly in the captions.) Contemporary green morocco slipcase and chemise, the sides centred with the Imperial arms in gilt, spine stamped in gilt (chemise lacking fold-down flap). Provenance: Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich (1832-1909; crowned cipher on the spine) -- A. Herenroth.

FROM THE COLLECTION OF GRAND DUKE MIKHAIL NIKOLAEVICH, son of Nicholas I, brother of Alexander II, and Governor General of the Caucasus for 20 years. This handsome publication summarizes the colours, history and major successes of the 18 dragoon regiments -- a number of which had distinguished themselves in campaigns in the Caucasus.
