Warhol's long documented fascination with Hollywood began at an early age. Growing up, Warhol would send away for autographs and pour over fan magazines. One of the most important keepsakes Warhol kept all his life was a portrait of Shirley Temple inscribed 'To Andrew Warhola from Shirley Temple."

The print directly reproduces the physical impression of these celebrities by illustrating their signatures, hand and footprints, as they are inscribed into the sidewalk at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California.
