With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and raised gold indexes in 1939 and its subsequent sale on 31 May 1940.

Reference 1450, also known as "Top Hat", was in production from 1940 until the 1960s. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alain Banbery, 2nd edition p. 137, pl. 196.
