There were many variants of this design produced by the Coade factory, an etching from their archive showing one such variant of circa 1775 is illustrated, Alison Kelly, Mrs Coade's Stone, Upton-upon-Severn, 1990, page 199, with a photograph of another variant dated 1794 is illustrated p. 182.
A further closely related variant of this design with impressed mark and dated 1799 was sold, The Michael Roberts Collection of Garden Ornaments, Christie's, Ashurst, Kent, 27 September 2004, lot 347 (£21,510 inc.).
