The deep U-shaped body is raised on three blade supports and is cast around the side with two taotie masks, one centered on a narrow flange, the other on a two-character inscription below the handle. A pair of posts with conical caps rises from the rim. There is extensive encrustation.

The two-character inscription cast below the handle may read, Wu Ren, which may be the name of an individual or, if Wu refers to a particular location, may be translated, "person from Wu." Another possible translation of the inscription may be, ba liu (8-6).
