A RARE AND FINELY CARVED GREEN GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL, ATTRIBUTED TO THE PALACE WORKSHOPS, BEIJING, 1720-1780
The flattened, rounded bottle is finely carved on one side with the character xi (happiness) made up of four dragons sharing two bodies. The reverse is carved with a formalized shou (longevity) character made up of six dragons sharing two bodies. The narrow sides are carved with masks suspending fixed rings.
1 13/16 in. (4.5 cm.) high, pink quartz stopper and bone spoon
