TWO SMALL WHITE JADE CARVINGS
18TH/19TH CENTURY
One carving is of two recumbent huan (badgers) with their legs tucked under their bodies, and each grasping the end of a branch of lingzhi fungus in its mouth. The other is sensitively carved as a recumbent horse rolling on its side, with its head turned back sharply to bite at its right hind foot. The stone is of an even pale greenish-white tone with some areas of russet inclusions.
2 3/8 and 2 in. (6 and 5.7 cm.) across (2)
