Château Lafite Rothschild--Vintage 1985
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Not in original wooden case. One damaged capsule. Eleven excellent appearance, one slightly bin-soiled label
Tasting Note: In 2002 a magnum: medium-deep, mature, 'warm' and inviting; bricky, vanillin; sweet, perfect weight and balance, soft, lovely, with a surprisingly spicy finish. Opening up beautifully, Nov. 2005, adding 'will age well'. Most recently: still deep, fairly intense, velvety; very fragrant bouquet, slightly 'bricky', cedar, oyster shell; medium sweetness and body, good length, dry finish. Classic. Needs time. Last tasted April 2006 ***(**) 2008 - 2025. M.B.
