2 volumes, 18° (125 x 80mm). Half-titles, 24 engraved plates. Contemporary red morocco, gilt borders, spine and edges gilt (extremities very lightly rubbed).
A FINE COPY of the second edition. A first 8vo edition, with wider margins and printed on laid paper, was also published the same year. This second edition contains the same plates by Antoine Borel, after François Rolland Elluin. VERY RARE: no copies recorded at auction in ABPC/AE online. Pia Enfer, 623; Cohen-de Ricci 431: 'C'est la plu bel èdition de ce roman'. (2)
