A FINE LARGE ROSE-VERTE DISH
YONGZHENG PERIOD (1723-1735)
The dish is elaborately enamelled with a leaf-shaped cartouche in the centre depicting a colourful garden scene with female figures and boys engaging in leisurely activities, reserved against a red ground adorned with lotuses and cranes on dense scrolls painted in gold. The wide flaring rim is ornately decorated with further cartouches enclosing composite flowers and butterflies, and three dragon medallions in turquoise, all against a blue ground with gold scrolls. The exterior is delicately detailed with bamboo in blue enamel.
