The vase with a splayed foot is colourfully painted to the baluster body in tones of red, green, aubergine, yellow and underglaze blue depicting a delightful garden scene with ladies watching boys at play, the waisted neck with peony flowers and rocks. The dome-shaped cover is similarly decorated with dancing boys and topped by a bud-shaped finial.
