With four-panel top set within the rectangular frame above a narrow waist and shaped, beaded aprons carved with a simplified leafy scroll, all raised on slender, elegantly curved cabriole legs terminating in scroll-form feet

While the form of the present kang table is widely known, perhaps the most distinguishing feature is the slender, elegant legs, which are thinner than most. However, a square huanghuali kang table with very similar narrow legs, dated the late 17th or early 18th century, is illustrated by C. Evarts in Liang Yi Collection: Huanghuali, Hong Kong, 2007, pp. 90-1, no. 27.
