拍品专文

The distinctive marquetry decoration of this commode is clearly inspired by French and Dutch cabinetmakers but shows also the characteristic design of Philipp Ferdinand Ludwig Batscher (1749-1823). Bartscher was appointed Hofmaler und Möbelfabrikant in Rietberg, Germany.

Comparable commodes are illustrated in S. Bauermeier ao., Feine Möbel aus Westfalen, Heidelberg, 2003, p. 154.
