The artist first became interested in woodcuts when introduced to Japanese Ukiyo-e Prints at college. Working in cherry wood,pine and plywood.The artist may cut up to 6 blocks for one image. Rich's prints initially focused on individuals, now these individuals are being placed in to context, i.e. into their natural habitats.
