Of oval form, on bun feet, chased with a central band of Indian deities amongst scrolling foliage, the handles modelled as an elephant's head and trunk, the tray with conforming handles, chased with an elaborate border of figures amongst temples and buildings
The teapot 6¼ in. (15.9 cm.) high, the tray 21 1/8 in. (23.7 cm.) wide over handles

Alice Villiers, aka Stella Mudge, was a Kent born cabaret dancer at the Folies Bergere in Paris where she met and was seduced by Maharajah Paramjit Singh of Kapurthala (1892-1955). She became his third wife and took the title of Maharani Narinder Kaur on their marriage in 1937.
