This form is often also known a 'cress' bowl and was used to drain salads. For a polychrome example, see Garry Atkins, A Catalogue of English Pottery, 2009, p. 24, no. 32. See also John C. Austin, British Delft at Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Virginia, 1994, pp. 198-199, no. 399 for the similar example at Colonial Williamsburg. Shards of this form have been excavated at the Chiswell-Buck House [38DA.0226], and at the Donnegan and windmill site [38EA.0036].
