A John Ilbery, apprenticed to William Lloyd on 4 November 1765, seems to have been contemporary with the better known William Ilbury (or Ilbery) who also specialized in watches for the Chinese market. Since William and John worked in the same street during a period of time, there might have been some relationship between them.
