Surmounted by Neptune seated within a scallop shell, held aloft by a pair of winged mermaids flanking a circular enamel dial and clockcase cast with bulrush and reeds, on a pierced rocaille base centered with a trumpeting triton and putti astride hippocampi, the base bearing the arms of the Duc d'Angoulême, stamped THOMIR
