Maker's mark 'IS', possibly Amsterdam, second half 18th Century
Rectangular, fish skin over wooden boards, the front and back cover with central shaped oval plaque depicting an East Indiaman with V.O.C. flag enclosed by scroll and shells, two silver clasps with monogram V.O.C.D. (Delft) and a silver stylus connecting the clasp and functioning as a catch
