Navette-shaped, the double-hinged covers each engraved with a crest within foliage, one further engraved 'Foots', the other 'Rapee', the base later engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked inside each side and each cover

The arms are those of Stewart, for Sir John Stewart 1st Bt. (d.1825), an eminent barrister who was appointed Attorney-General of Ireland in 1799. He also represented co. Down and Tyrone in parliament. He was created a baronet in 1803. He married Mary (d.1799), daughter of Mervyn Archdale of Castle Archdale, co. Fermanagh
