Painted in puce, black and gilt with the arms of Haywood with Parsons of Quedgley House in pretence reserved against a landscape vignette and puce flowersprays, the border with puce scrolls and iron-red and blue sprigs, minor rim chipping, short crack to teacup, slight wear to enamels (3)

Thomas Haywood (1706-81) of Quedgley House, Gloucester, married Mercy, daughter of Charles Parsons of Bredon. Another trio from the service formerly in collection of T.G. Burn, Rous Lench Court, sold Sotheby's London, 1 July 1986, lot 240 and subsequently sold in the Zorensky Collection, Part II, Bonham's London, 23 February 2005, lot 34. The teapot from the service is in the Klepser Collection, see Simon Spero, Worcester Porcelain, the Klepser Collection, London, 1984, p. 46, no. 38.
