Each painted in blue, yellow, green and manganese, the first with travellers before buildings in wooded mountainous landscape, the well with an ochre band within broad plain border, the second with a huntsman pursuing a bird beside buildings in wooded landscape, minor chipping to rims, slight scratching to glaze

Stylistically the painting on the present plates is similar to Italian maiolica produced at Castelli, Siena and Pavia, however these wares proved popular with a Northern European clientele and the style influenced the decorators at Holics.
