probably German, circa 1630, some applied ornament possibly replaced, unmarked
On octafoil corded base, the lobed centre with applied foliage, the stem enclosed in openwork foliage skirt, the bowl chased with swiriling lobes and with similarly applied foliage, the rim engraved with a band of insects and scrolling foliage, the similarly chased and applied cover with twisted openwork stem surmounted by pomegranate finial
