On domed fluted foot chased with panels of scrolling rocaille ornament, the broadly fluted bowl finely chased with alternate panels of standing male and female figures in rococo surrounds with rocaille panels between and with shaped moulded border

The attribution to Michael May is based on two beakers of very similar form. One sold Christie's Geneva, 15 November 1994, lot 74, the other, with cover, illustrated in the exhibition catalogue by I. Fodor et al. Baroque Splendor, the Art of the Hungarian Goldsmith, New York, n.d., pl. 69. A somewhat similar beaker by Georgius Olescher Jr, mid-18th century is in the Salgo collection (see J. H. Kolba, Hungarian silver, the Nicholas M. Salgo collection, London, 1996, p. 81)
