The following lots 85 and 86 clearly display the influence of Pala Indian style on later Himalayan sculpture, not least in the treatment of the double-lotus base with beaded rims. The Indian prototypes were typically of small and highly portable size, allowing for the transfer of actual sculptures all across the Himalayas and serving as models for regional adaptation and artistic evolution.
