See the footnote for lot 112. It is unclear what the significance of the C on the reverse of this plate is; it closely resembles the C for Conditorei in the Royal KHC marks (see lot 47). Hoffmeister lists other pieces with the 'C' marks, which includes three pieces from a service sold by Sotheby's, London, on 8th July 1997, lot 57.
