ATTRIBUTED TO THE CENTAUR PAINTER, CIRCA 550-530 B.C.
Side A: a naked satyr running in pursuit, his left arm stretched out before him, his right arm stretched out behind, added red for tail, beard and musculature
Side B: a maenad running in flight, her arms in similar pose, wearing black girdled peplos with red overskirt, added white for face and limbs Palmettes on either side of the handle and the inscription XAIPEKAI*IEIEV (Chaire kai piei eu - Hail/rejoice and drink well), the interior black glazed with reserved line around the lip, the centre with reserved circle with smaller black painted circle and dot; accompanied by Christie's London sale catalogue, A Private Collection of Greek Vases and Terracottas, 3 July 1996, and K.
