Formed from a solid bar, circular in section, hammered flat to give a diamond-shaped bezel, then bent back upon itself and soldered, the bezel engraved with a monster facing left, composed of the forepart of a horse paired with a human leg, a palmette before it, a gold stud above, enclosed within a hatched border
