The plain baluster body on circular foot applied with gadroons, the spout cast and chased with bearded mask on matted ground above acanthus leaves, the S-shaped reeded handle headed by a volute, marked on base, spout and handle -- 24.5 cm (9½ in) high

Lot Essay

Pierre V Hanappier born in 1707, entered his mark in 1730 and was elected warden of the Orléans silversmiths community in the periods 1754-1756, 1764-1766 and 1774-1776. Representing the fourth generation of silversmiths in the Hanappier family, he was the son of Antoine and the brother of Jacques and Antoine-François, all silversmiths in Orléans.
