A FINE LARGE BLUE AND WHITE VASE, HU
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

Of broad baluster shape, well painted in vivid cobalt-blue tones with the eight Buddhist emblems, bajixiang, above two registers of lotus blooms, each centered with a Shou roundel, borne on scrolling leafy vines, the shoulders set with a pair of taotie mask handles integral to the body, with a further lotus scroll around the waisted neck above stylised floral sprays, upright lappets around the base and waves around the spreading foot and flaring mouth
