Of crozier form, carved in deep relief with flowering scrolls and beading
20½ in. (52 cm.) high
Together with a pair of oak heraldic cadency panels, 17th Century, carved with a decrescent moon and a molet motif in cartouches - 14¾ x 7¾ in. (37 x 19.6 cm.) (3)

拍品專文

The unusual crozier head finial might have been carved to lay over the tomb of a Bishop or else carried as a staff finial in a religious procession. The fact that one side is not carved suggests the former hypothesis is likely. The cadency panels refer to the second and third sons in heraldic order.
