CIRCA 1765, THE MOUNT PROBABLY CONTEMPORARY
Painted in puce camaïeu vignettes in gilt-scroll cartouches, the cover with a couple seated on a shore before boats and buildings in a river landscape, the sides with four lesser vignettes of travellers and boats, the underside with boats moored at a quay by classical ruins, the interior of the cover with merchants on a shore before a walled town (slight scratching to edge of base)
