Marie Augustine d'Harcourt married Armand Henri de La Croix, Comte de Castries (1807-1862), on 23 April 1833. The Countess's eldest daughter, Elizabeth (1834-1900), married Patrice de Mac-Mahon, 1st Duc de Magenta (1808-1893), in 1854. Patrice de Mac-Mahon was a celebrated General, Marshal of France, and Chief of State from 1873 to 1875. In 1875 he was elected the first president of the Third Republic, a position he held until 1879.
