This model is from a series of Russian street traders that were loosely based on engravings and drawings by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince, who travelled to Russia to record Russian way of life in the 18th Century. See Len and Yvonne Adams, Meissen Portrait Figures (London, 1987), p. 142 for a closely related example.
